Meeting TMDL Criteria in Florida and Nutrients from Upstream States

A pilot study was performed in the Attapulgus basin to determine the quality and quantity of water entering Florida from upstream states and the ability to meet nutrient criteria goals. The Watershed Assessment Model, a flow and transport model with an ArcGIS interface predicts daily discharge and nitrogen loads, quantifying the effects of improved management techniques, focusing managemnet in areas where improved management efforts in areas that may significantly improve stream water quality.
