The health effects of food insecurity and the household-level determinants of food insecurity have been well documented and made available for large areas, such as counties and states. We developed a method to explore the relationship between food insecurity risk, health purchasing behaviors, and health outcomes by community in San Diego County. These data are being used to track trends in overall well-being and inform outreach efforts locally.
