Using GIS to Model Nutrient Allocation in Important Crop Plants

Beans contain many key minerals important to human health. We endeavored to model the movement of different minerals into and their distribution throughout the bean plant using traditional Geographic Information System software, ArcGIS. Our intent was use the software to display the change in mineral concentrations in different plant parts over time and to establish a basis for quantitative analyses and extrapolation.
