Abstract
Distributing Population for Future Infrastructure Planning
Track: Community Planning and Economic Development
Authors: Ariel Brown
This project distributed large polygon estimates of 2010, 2020, and 2040 populations to more accurately estimate population in water pressure zones and wastewater basins for future infrastructure planning. Using weighted overlay, zonal statistics, and raster calculator a final raster with population values for each 20x20ft cell was created for each year. This process is useful for anyone looking to more accurately distribute population within a study area.
