A Python Hydrographic Modeling and Mapping Tool

The USACE Mississippi Valley District conducts over 140 hydrographic surveys a year. Using Python and a custom ArcGIS tool, the district has shortened its survey processing time by around 400 man-hours a year. This presentation will discuss the overall code structure for this custom tool and the workflow it follows to get from a raw data file to a polished map. This presentation will also highlight problems the developer encountered and the solutions that he implemented to solve these issues.
