Proposing a reservoir to a community is a very interesting project and the use of GIS is intergral in the initial studies and advanced research of the credibility and future planning of the project. In Anderson, IN there has been a proposed reservoir that the MCCOG has been involved with from day 1 and GIS is the main tool in which the idea was born and studied. See how we used GIS for this study.
