Abstract
Improving Local Data in the Chesapeake Bay TMDL Models

In 2017, the U.S. EPA’s Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) is giving pollution reduction progress reports to watershed states. For the first time, CBP is pushing the use of best available data for each location over coarser, watershed-wide information. New high-res land cover and county GIS resources are the basis of this innovation. ArcGIS has been implemented to generate the land cover, assess local data, and through a series of ModelBuilder workflows, transform the land cover into land use inputs.
