Building a National Address Database
Track: Spatial Data Infrastructure
Authors: Stephen Lewis, Mark Lange
The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) recognizes the need for a National Address Database (NAD). To date, there has been no national database of address points in the public domain. In many cases, such data already exist at the State and/or local level. USDOT believes that a NAD can be built by aggregating this data. This presentation will review our efforts to validate this approach and compile a version 1 of the NAD.
