Abstract
Climate Change in Bhutan: What Impact Will It Have on the Key Crops
Track: Agriculture
Authors: Louis Parker
The project assessed the potential impacts of climate change for the decade 2050 on the suitability of five key crops (maize, rice, potato, chili and tomato) and three diversification crops in Bhutan. An initial workshop and training was undertaken with agricultural experts from Bhutan. With support from CIAT, the experts undertook the crop modelling and provided unique insights and recommendations which can be used by policy makers to ensure agricultural systems remain productive.
