Abstract
Hurricane Matthew from a GIS Perspective
Track: Disaster and Emergency Management
Authors: John Centeno, Michael Mazih
The object paper shows measures used by Glynn County GIS, before, during, and after Hurricane Matthew. The chief goal is to offer a process that could be modeled in the event of a disaster. It is the idea of the author to identify the maps and analysis that could be needed by a GIS Department in the event of a natural disaster. Glynn County GIS was able to confirm the potential storm inundation data from the National Hurricane Center through comparing DEM data to GPS collected high water marks.
