Riverscape: A River Atlas Program in the Olympic National Park
Track: Parks, Natural Reserves, Fisheries, and Wildlife Management
Authors: Brian Footen, Courtney Gallagher
Federal Agencies are creating a digital atlas of Olympic National Park Rivers from source-to-sea. Project Riverscape catalogues and geo-locates biota and habitat features of the rivers and the FishViews’ mapping platform was selected as a unique way to interact with the data. FishViews’ cloud-based GIS technology integrates water-level panoramic imagery with the geospatial data to provide Riverscape first-person perspective for analysis and the ability to use the portal for public relations.
