Abstract
Building a Weighted Spatial Sampling Strategy for Household Surveys
Track: Urban and Regional Planning
Authors: Dara Seidl
Appropriate sampling design is crucial for allowing human survey results to be generalizable. This presentation highlights the development of a Python-based geoprocessing tool in ArcGIS Desktop that incorporates spatial input data to develop weighting factors for human geography surveys. Input parameters are configured to accept land use, Census data, and parcel data, automating the production of improved household-level sampling plans for major metropolitan surveys.
