Abstract
Managing Rangelands and Large Landscapes through Recurring Drought
Track: Conservation
Authors: Todd Snelgrove
The East Foundation has a mission to support wildlife conservation and the public benefits of ranching and private land stewardship. This is accomplished through research, education, and outreach across 218,000 acres of rangeland. Rainfall varies annually, spatially, and temporally with drought playing a major role in the management of our ranches. ArcGIS and raster based precipitation data is used to analyze short and long term rainfall trends informing management decisions on our ranches.
