Abstract
Mapping Drought in Southern California
Track: Climate Change

Drought is plaguing the American Southwest, prompting radical redistribution of water and shifts in the hydrologic dynamics of ecosystems. Here I present a spatiotemporal analysis of water table depths in a montane meadow in the San Bernardino Nat. Forest to assess regional scale groundwater availability. Preliminary results suggest the 2012-2016 drought may have lasting effects on meadows in Southern California, a scenario that may alter our watershed dynamics irreversibly in a warming world.
