Abstract
Site Selection for Higher Density Affordable Rental Housing
Track: Urban and Regional Planning

Currently, Los Angeles faces the challenge of ensuring that residents at all income levels have access to affordable rental housing. For this issue, suitable sites for the construction of higher density affordable rental housing developments were analyzed. This involved six iterations of a site suitability analysis. The results showed that existing land use and zoning regulations impacted the construction of such developments. This project demonstrated how GIS can best support housing policy.
