128 rain gauges owned by individual municipalities’ public utilities and waterworks divisions were interpolated to form a spatially and temporally-varying hydrodynamic model rainfall input during 2016 Hurricane Matthew (10/8-9) and a heavy rainfall event in the weeks prior (9/19-22). The model was validated via 5 tide gauges for an aggregate RMSE of 8.19cm in the vertical, and geospatially validated via 263 crowdsourced ‘Sea Level Rise’ App GPS flood extents for a mean distance diff. of 11.21m.
