Redlining Louisville: The History of Race, Class, and Real Estate
Track: Urban and Regional Planning
Authors: Joshua Poe, Jeana Dunlap
Geocoding, overlays, and digitizing historical documents revealed how policies affected housing development and lending patterns over time, and how they influence current day. This analysis was created as a story map, enhancing users’ experience through interactive maps, narratives and historic images. By rooting the analysis in history and visualizing the information to show that segregation is still real, the tool will educate and target policies to improve housing options for all residents.
