An extended drought has critically impacted the remaining population of the endangered southern steelhead in Southern California. Population abundance and the effect of the drought will be presented in context of water resource management for human, agricultural and industrial consumption specifically in the Santa Ynez River basin and its communities. GIS technologies have been critical in analyzing, reporting and managing public trust resources of river water supply for humans and fish.
