Abstract
Use of CIR Aerial Photography at Huntsville Botanical Garden
Track: Conservation
Authors: Tracy Cook
Efficient methods of mapping changes that take place in the landscape are necessary to support the Garden’s mission. Supervised image classification of very high-resolution aerial imagery may augment ground surveying for general visitor maps using the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extension. NDVI has been applied to act as an early warning of shade tree stress in small spatial extent to assist in the proactive management of shade trees to prevent catastrophic storm damage.
