Abstract
Priority Planning for Ash Trees Impacted by the Emerald Ash Borer
Track: Urban and Regional Planning
Authors: Corinne Murray
The purpose of this project was to plan and manage ash trees threatened by the emerald ash borer. I inventoried all ash trees on city property by collecting data for diameter, health and location. Based on defined attribute criteria, I assigned numerical scores to each tree and joined them to a street layer to create a priority scale for treatment. The data increased execution efficiency and budget forecasting. This planning approach can be applied to a variety of urban tree crisis.
