Delivering Situation Awareness during Nationally Significant Events

Much important response training is done during the response/recovery phase of disasters. The need was filled using ArcGIS Globe and VERDE web streaming services during Hurricanes Colin and Matthew to train first responders with short, incident specific awareness modules delivered on demand. Where power was out, roads interrupted, flood and field reports were supplied by web views and maps that could be selected or manipulated. The system is used by researchers, weather modelers and planners.
