Abstract
Assessment of Energy Sources Using GIS and Data from Remote Sensing
Track: Renewable Energy
Authors: Lubos Matejicek
The GIS is used to provide spatial data management, multi-criteria analysis and visualization for assessment of local energy sources in an area of surface coal mines. The analysis is based on data from remote sensing, topographic maps, and a wide range of thematic layers focused on solar radiation, wind flows, biomass potential, and geological and hydrological survey. Multi-criteria analysis provides assessment of potential sources of energy in a few decades, and predicts the future development.
