Abstract
Automating Practical Driver Test Routes for New Zealanders
Track: Highways and Roads
Authors: Jono Haimes
The New Zealand Transport Agency is responsible for producing drivers licensing test routes. In 2015 it was proposed that this largely manual process would become automated. Having an automated tool decreased manual intervention and saved an estimated 400 days of test route development. In order to solve this problem, CoreLogic used a combination of Esri functionality coupled with bespoke Python processes allowing the process to be agile, accurate and a great example of the power of GIS.
