Track: Urban and Regional Planning

In this research, I analyze the impact and interaction between arts and jobs as a driving force of growth in a period of 16 years, in the zip-code level. Using a combination of geographically weighted regression and hotspot analysis on US Census data, we identify in which zip-codes the arts or jobs are strongest in attracting the other, and their neighboring effects. We observe that in most areas, arts have a significant impact in attracting jobs.
