Track: Elections, Redistricting, and Census

Public Law 94-171 requires the U.S. Census Bureau to provide the states with the small area geography needed for redistricting. The Block Boundary Suggestion and Voting District Projects provide states the ability to modify Census blocks prior to creation and to include voting districts in the 2020 Census geography. Learn how the Bureau and its RDP liaisons provide for the modification of Census geography, using GIS, to meet the legal requirement to provide data that meets the state’s needs.
