TfL's surface transport directorate manage and operate London Streets. With increasing demand and competing priorities for road-space, keeping traffic flowing is vital to the Cities economy. Relying on traditional methods to monitor traffic is not enough where incident detection to reduce the impact of incidents on-street is vital. This presentation will cover TfL's use of the Waze connected citizen programme in the Traffic Control Centre to support faster, more reliable incident detection.
