The Prairie Nations Research Group combines Anthropology and Geography to explore the diachronic processes of the Native American groups of the prairies in relation to their physical/cultural /linguistic environments. This talk discusses GIS-related projects of the PNRG: 1) Meshwaki/Thaaki Cultural Geography; 2) Meshkwaki/Thaaki Friends-Foes; and 3) Meshkwaki Dialect Survey, as well as discuss the data gathering process the contribution a GIS-based analysis can make to anthropological research.
