As mobile devices rapidly proliferate and broadband services expand concomitantly, U.S. consumers are increasingly using their mobile phones for commerce and entertainment activities. In this study, we examine spatial patterns of m-commerce and m-entertainment in 3,108 counties of the U.S. using data from the NTIA, the U.S. Census, and Esri's Business Analyst. Strong association of geodemographic variables and tariff factors emphasize the importance of market forces on mobile internet usage.
