Meteorological parameters derived from NCEP satellite data (Precipitation, Max. & Min Temp., Humidity and Solar Radiation) were assessed for drought sensitivity. A negative relationship between MODIS NDVI and Precipitation Index was observed that triggered the drought condition. Decreasing trend between NDVI and humidity was observed. Overall drought severity map was generated using Fuzzy overlay of meteorological parameters that highlighted areas under various degrees of drought stress.
