Survey data on fishing activities was collected from 3200 fishers in the Okavango Delta. Hotspot analysis and multiple regression analysis tools were used to assess spatio-temporal trends of fishing activities and to evaluate the relationship between hydrological variables and fishing frequency. The results revealed a significantly higher intensity of fishing in the northern and southern areas of the Delta panhandle which suggests the presence of fishing hotspots.
