Abstract
UAVs for Coastal Applications
Track: Imagery and 3D Mapping
Authors: Donna Selch, Mark Rochelo
While previous remote sensing analysis relied on single images acquired from satellite or airplane sensors advancements in UAV technology has allowed for rapid, cost efficient and repeatable assessment of the dynamic coastal environment. In addition high resolution stereoscopic images can assess finite changes in the coastal community. This research showcases several examples of using drones to acquire data and then fusing this imagery for geological, biological, and ecological applications.
