The distribution of landslides in Nepal have been mapped from Google earth images and draped on top of dip slope and escarpment slope maps. Visual examination and the histograms developed from those maps clearly shows a strong spatial relationship among existing landslides and the dip slopes. Post-earthquake landslides are also strongly correlated with dip slopes. It is also noteworthy that more than 70% of the villages in this area are located on near-threshold or threshold dip slopes.
