Leveraging ArcPy to Prioritize Complete Streets for Health and Safety

GIS accelerates the design, implementation, funding, and health and equity analyses to prioritize bicycle infrastructure for commuter health and safety. DOT data were used to programmatically determine AASHTO and NACTO appropriate on-street bicycle facilities for Iowa City. A parcel level Network Analyst bicycle travel demand model was used to generate routes. WHO HEAT and Urban Network Analysis were used to evaluate bicycle accessibility and commuter health benefits at the road link level.
