Abstract
Overlaying LiDAR-scanned Objects on the GIS Maps
Track: Imagery and 3D Mapping

LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) technology enables us to get laser-scanned 3D point clouds of real-world structures. These laser-scanned point clouds are too large and complex to be handled on the ordinary PC’s. We extracted the key geometric primitives from the point clouds, and those geometric primitives are overlaid on the GIS maps. It is an effective way of integrating GIS systems and 3D virtual objects from real-world structures. We will show Implementation results and demonstrations.
