A forest restoration project’s goal was to restore forest vegetation diversity in even-aged fire-prone stands. We linked the FlamMap fire spread model and the Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) model using GIS tools to determine erosion for prescribed and wildfire, thinning, and road networks at a hillslope scale. Analyses required user defined GIS and ArcToolbox tools. The findings showed that the proposed management actions over time could reduce sediment delivery by about 25 percent.
