Abstract
City of Tacoma's GIS-Centric Wastewater Asset Performance Modeling
Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater
Authors: Greg Brazeau, Teresa Dressler
This presentation concentrates on using advanced GIS Applications as a nexus for integrating a multitude of data formats to determine an optimal plan for repairs and replacements in the City of Tacoma’s sanitary sewer system. This allows the City to make extremely informed and defensible plans for rapidly deteriorating infrastructure–an issue most modern municipalities face. The City balances future budgets with system risk, determined using modern GIS-integrated asset management techniques.
