Abstract
Coast Indentation Index for HF Radar Site Selection
Track: Ocean and Maritime
Authors: Michael Campbell
HF (high frequency) radar is rapidly becoming an important tool for monitoring many important coastal processes, including forecasting, pollution monitoring, and search and rescue. This project presents a tool to identify optimized site selection dependant on the shoreline conditions across both local and neighborhood scales using sites suitability based on coastal indentation index and convexity on the shoreline of interest by comparing these calculated values.
