Adapting the Hazus Flood Model for Curitiba, Brazil

While the Hazus Flood model is primarily designed for use in the United States, it has also been adapted for numerous international studies for risk communication with the goal of developing more resilient communities. Through a joint partnership between the University of Colorado Denver and the Pontifical Catholic University of Parana, the Hazus Flood model was adapted for Curitiba, Parana for use in emergency planning in conjunction with the Civil Defense Agency of Parana.
