Abstract
Using 3D GIS to Convey Flood Risk and Climate Change Information

As our climate changes and varies, flood risks and associated impacts are increasing. Many cities are threatened by rising waters and an increase in flood events. Community decision makers need meaningful and easily interpreted data to increase their resiliency. 3D GIS visualization allows anyone to view potential flood impacts on community infrastructure and assess modeled scenarios. Seeing these scenarios in 3D provides an added sense of realism that traditional data displays can’t achieve.
