Abstract
Using Open Data for Spatial Analysis of Dengue Fever Risk in Singapore
Track: Public Health

Dengue can be fatal and incidents have grown recently. There is no specific treatment, but early detection and access to care significantly lowers fatalities. Resources need to be targeted where there is greatest risk. Using Singapore’s open data two methods were used to quantify risk. Population risk was calculated using buffers from known mosquito breeding habitats and dengue fever clusters. Then a risk index using unit weighted regression was developed to determine areas at greatest risk.
