The Economic Value of Converting County Easement Documents to GIS Features

Cobb County GA is a progressive, county in Georgia that has been experiencing strong growth and development. Historically permanent easement documents were available as deed and property records through our Superior Court Clerks Office. Over a 3-year period, staff and contractors converted over 150,000 legal descriptions to GIS features. We now enable access to easement data using web-maps. In addition, property documents have been scanned and linked to the GIS features, saving staff vital time.
