Abstract
Hurricane Irma Rapid Response Mapping and GIS Products
Track: Emergency Management
Authors: Chris Macon
In support of FEMA’s emergency response mission following Hurricane Irma, USACE JALBTCX was tasked with rapid-response mapping of the Florida shoreline. This required rapid data collection and generation of geospatial data and advanced lidar products (within days of collection). These data were distributed via the ESRI Cloud sandbox and used by USACE, FL Emergency Management, and FEMA to support their assessment of damages to coastal storm risk management projects along the Florida shoreline.
