Preparing for NextGen911 - A Regional Approach

As global connectivity & communications mobility increase, Next Generation 911 (NG911) augments capabilities of a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), or 911 center, beyond voice into photos, videos, & text messages. These 911 systems will be reliant on GIS data. Roanoke County led the dvlpmt of a regional PSAP database supporting local coord via online accessibility & est. common framework to address boundary & jurisd ambiguity in support of NG911 efforts by leveraging the Esri platform.
