Esri GIS for Oregon Metro, Freight Demand Modeling & Data Improvement Project

RSG completed a project for Oregon Metro to replace the trip-based truck model with a truck touring model that reflects decisions by shippers, receivers, and truck operators. A commercial travel GPS survey was conducted with a smartphone app and supplemented with truck GPS data (EROAD & INRIX). Using ESRI GIS methods and tools the datasets were processed and analyzed. Geospatial results will be presented on truck route patterns and GIS best practices for freight data.
