Using ArcGIS and Collector for Managing Urban Stream Health and Flood Mitigation

Salem, OR is utilizing ArcGIS and the Collector App to amass data to inform a pragmatic approach for managing its urban streams. Utilizing these applications, City interns collect data on invasive plants, threats to water quality, threats to flooding, and desirable habitat for preservation or enhancement. These data provide a basis for asset inventory and guidance for stream reaches that should be managed for the enhancement of aquatic life and/or conveyance of stormwater to prevent flooding.
