Snow in Georgia? How Cobb County DOT uses GIS to Manage Winter Weather Events

Snowmagedden. Snowpocalyse. Snow Jam. These events hit metro Atlanta in recent years, inspiring Cobb DOT to make some changes. In charge of Georgia's second-largest county-owned road network, the team used GIS to create 26 priority snow routes, set up GeoEvent to see the locations of AVL-equipped trucks within their work management system and created a web map to share road conditions with citizens. This presentation will cover how they did it and what lessons they learned along the way.<br />
