Early 2017, the GIS section at the Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) gave its employees a demonstration about the Survey 123 and Collection applications. Multiple employees at IDWR have adopted this new technology. I will cover what has been done at IDWR, lessons learned from introducing Survey 123 to field staff and letting them “run with it” and efforts underway at IDWR to govern mobile data collection, standardize and automate the flow of data from Survey 123 into our SQL databases.
