Spatially accurate asset information is particularly important to a gas utility. However, much of the gas system was installed prior to the advent of technology such as GPS and GIS. To solve this problem the Gas Technology Institute (GTI), RamTech and ConEd used the process of conflation to 'move' the gas system components within a GIS.
