GIS Data Driven Approach to Bicycle Planning in Montgomery County, Maryland

Montgomery County Planning Department is currently undertaking an update to its Bicycle Master Plan. The plan will focus on developing a high-quality / low-stress bicycle network, bringing bicycle recommendations in line with industry best practices, and consolidating all bicycle recommendations into a single plan for the first time since 1978. The plan uses a GIS centric approach to assess the existing/proposed bicycle network, solicit feedback, quantify metrics, and prioritize improvements.
