Catch the King Tide was a successful citizen-science GPS data collection effort that occurred during the king tide on Nov. 5th in Hampton Roads, VA. 500+ volunteers mapped the king tide's maximum flood extent to validate and improve predictive models and future forecasting of increasingly pervasive nuisance flooding. 53,006 high water marks and 1200+ geotagged pictures of inundation were captured using the Sea Level Rise and ArcGIS Collector Apps to drop GPS breadcrumbs tracing the floodwaters.
